Reduce lines, wrinkles and age spots for younger-looking skin
If you’re longing for skin that’s soft, smooth and younger-looking, talk to one of our experienced nurse practitioners about the benefits of our medical peels.
Medical peels are an effective treatment for age spots, acne, skin pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, dull skin, mild scarring and sun-damaged skin. They are suitable for men and women and can work wonders on the face, neck and hands.
Our range of pharmaceutical grade peels contain high levels of active ingredients and antioxidants that exfoliate the outer layers of the skin to reveal fresher, healthier skin that is smoother, brighter and more youthful. They come in different strengths which are chosen to target each client’s unique needs.
If you are looking for a significant improvement in your skin, we may recommend a series of medical peels. You may be interested in our money-saving packages:
What are medical peels?
Pharmaceutical grade chemicals are applied to the skin to encourage it to shed its outer layers to reveal smoother, more radiant skin beneath. These peels range in strength from light to deep, depending on the agent used and how long it is left on the skin. The strength of the peel performed is dependent on condition of your skin and result you are seeking.
Which skin conditions can it treat?
Medical peels can improve the appearance of:
Certain types of acne
Lacklustre or dull skin
When will I see an improvement in my skin?
Our lightest medical peel treatment will give an instant result, leaving your skin looking smoother and with a healthy glow. If you have a deeper medical peel you may experience redness, swelling, peeling and water blisters for up to 14 days after the treatment. This is quite normal and the end result will be smoother skin and a more even skin tone. A course of treatments and maintenance treatments may be recommended to further improve results.
Does it hurt?
The vast majority of our clients describe the feeling as either a very minimal sensation, a light tingling sensation or a tingling accompanied by warmth. We will perform a free patch test beforehand to assess whether you are suitable for a medical peel. We will also remove the peel immediately, should you feel uncomfortable.
Who is a good candidate for a medical peel?
Medical peels work best on men and women with fair skin and light hair. The risk of an uneven skin tone increases on darker-skinned clients.
How do you apply a medical peel?
If you have a medical skin condition we will ask you to consult your GP prior to any treatment.
In the run-up to your appointment we will ask you to prepare your skin by applying regular pre-conditioning products.
Your treatment will take up to 45 minutes to complete. On the day we will cleanse your skin thoroughly to remove excess oils before covering your eyes and hair for protection. Our highly qualified and trained practitioner will carefully apply the treatment to your skin and leave it to work for the prescribed period. The peel will then be carefully removed.
Will my skin peel?
Your experienced nurse practitioner will explain any downtime that may be associated with your specific medical peel.
Mid peels usually result in redness followed by scaling and light peeling for three to seven days.
Medium and deep peels usually result in redness, scaling, swelling and water blisters for seven to 14 days.
You will be given expert after-care advice. The key is to keep your skin moist and supple and to treat it with care. The end result will be smoother skin and a more even skin tone.
Will I need to avoid the sun after my peel?
It is important to protect your skin from the sun’s harsh UV rays so we highly recommend you always apply a broad-spectrum UV/UVB sunscreen. We will also recommend some excellent skin care products.
